The
Department of Veterans
Affairs,
-
formerly known as the Veterans
Administration- can appear to be a real pain in the #$% when you deal with
them. But please, remember that they, just like the Military, have Rules and Regs that they must follow
AND they (the individual people - sometimes vets themselves) often deal
with Veterans who are not sure of , or worse, misinformed of, what their rights
and
responsibilities
are.
Please also remember, like us, the
VA employees are people too - they have kids that don't listen, spouses that
spend too much, and cars that break down when they can't afford to fix them, -
they have bad days too!
1st rule: The best way to deal with the VA is to
have your own ducks in a row...
I had thought I was well informed
about my rights and responsibilities but going through the websites listed below, I learned a
lot more - things that will add $$ to the bottom line for my compensation.
Things that I was missing out on because "I didn't know" or "I didn't want to
bother with the VA". Things that, since I didn't know what was involved, I
thought were too much trouble to pursue - WRONG!

I hope some others can benefit from
the information found in the above websites as much as I did.
